“No Sex Before Marriage” Belief Must Be Changed; It’s Causing A lot Of Problems – Akosua Agyepong
Akosua Agyapong, a legendary Ghanaian highlife musician and television personality, has stated that the “no sex before marriage” belief should be reconsidered and changed.
According to her, the traditional belief that engaged couples must refrain from sexually related activities until they marry must be reconsidered and changed, as it is causing a slew of issues in society.
Speaking as a guest on GhOne’s Duvet show, the ‘Kokooko’ hitmaker explained that this age-old moral principle is causing significant problems for partners who are mostly dissatisfied in their marriage because they did not know their partners sexually before marriage.
She went on to say that marriage is a significant and life-altering commitment, as well as the most significant investment a person can make in their life. She also stated that before marriage, individuals must be sexually compatible.
“They need to change the ‘no sex before marriage’ rule.” I am now in favour of change. E dey cause a lot of issues. As you may be aware, your man may be impotent. Maybe your lady would prefer something else. “There is an issue,” she said in pidgin.
The veteran crooner’s point of view challenges a long-held belief about premarital sex that has been echoed in religious doctrine. While some agree with her, others believe that adhering to traditional values that promote abstinence is the best way forward.
