I Need A Record Label Like EMPIRE To Push My Music Worldwide – Singjay

Fast rising Ghanaian Reggae/Dancehall artiste, Ludwick Arthur, known in the Ghanaian Music industry as SINGJAY, has revealed what he needs to overcome the struggles he comes across in his musical journey.  The Caprice based singer who hails from Hemang Kumasi in the Ashanti Region was  the guest of Power Entertainment on Saturday, December 3, 2022.  The program was live on Power FM, TV XYZ and was also streamed live on their various social media platforms.

The Pride of Caprice  made it categorically clear that Ghanaian artistes need record labels to help them in projecting their crafts as the likes of Black Sherif is enjoying with Empire Distribution.  “It is the dream of every artiste to get the opportunity of working with a record label, but it depends on the vision of both parties.  There are many record labels in the country, but, I need the ones with structures that can help in pushing the works of artistes to a higher reach.” Singjay disclosed.

Speaking on rejection encountered in his way up the musical ladder, the Pride of Caprice mentioned one he faced at Irie Ites studios although he was in the company of Ex Doe and Fiifi Sellah some time ago.  He revealed that due to the fact that he hasn’t reached the level of other artistes on the riddim, he was denied entry into the studios.  He later contacted and convinced one of the managers of the studios and finally got the opportunity to be part of a compilation of the recording studios.

Singjay mentioned legendary Highlife singer, KK Fosu as the artiste he has always been dreaming of having on his song. “I really adore him.  I like the way he sings and his style of writing.  I went to his place with one of my big men about five years ago and I’m sure he will recognize me when we meet.” he added.

The Auntie Deede hit maker mentioned ’Stop Doubting Me’ by Ghanaian Reggae icon, Black Prophet as his favorite song and proved it as he sang a verse from the song.  He added that he really want to project Caprice with his talent to open the gateway for other talented artistes from that vicinity.

Singjay, who started his music journey with the likes of Iwan finds himself in a genre of music of a melodious mixture of highlife, dancehall, reggae and hip-hop. He lunched his Magical 23 Mixtape Album under Magic Empire Entertainment in 2016, which consists of 23 solid songs.

The budding singer is still promoting his latest song, titled Auntie Deede, which features Nii Funny and was produced by Odo Nsuo.  The song was accepted by all, which includes legendary music producer Fred Kyei Mensah, who was overwhelmed by the composition and arrangement of the song.  He also made mention of his upcoming annual event, Singjayfest, which comes off on Saturday December 10, 2022 in collaboration with Magic Empire and Taggetz Events.  Singjay will put together a lineup of great performers, which includes Sugar Ranking, Awal, Wan Row, GH Ponch, Jefri King, among others at Taggetz Pub, formerly known as Bumarang for this year’s Singjayfest.  The program begins with a cleanup exercise of the neighborhood at 6:00am and performance will commence at 6:00pm with a number of artistes lined up to exhibit their talents.
