We Did Not Neglect Mr Ibu – Kate Henshaw Speaks For Actors Guild Nigeria

The health and welfare of well-known Nigerian actor Mr. John Okafor, also known as Mr. Ibu, have recently been the subject of controversy and waves of worry.

In response to these worries, his coworker Kate Henshaw, an actress who also serves as the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) spokesperson, has stepped up to address the situation and make it clear that the Guild did not ignore Mr. Ibu.

You may recall that just a few days ago, the actress Stella Maris’ wife claimed that the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) failed to support her husband when he fell ill. Additionally, she charged them with abusing her ailing husband in order to gain influence. This caused a public uproar and sparked debate about the guild’s obligation to assist its members in difficult circumstances.

However, speaking on behalf of the guild on Saturday, October 21, Kate maintained that the guild has never left any of its members, whether low or high, when they’re in dire need, particularly in matters of health. She claims that the guild offered assistance to the actor with the actor’s immediate family’s full knowledge and consent before he disclosed his health condition.

“It is important to clarify the facts regarding the public outcry regarding the AGN’s abandonment of Mr. Ibu. The Guild has never forsaken any of its members, particularly those who require medical interventions. Even prior to the public disclosure of Mr. Ibu’s health condition, we were at the forefront of offering the support he needed. Furthermore, his immediate family was fully informed of this.

“We had to assign members on a one-on-one basis to help with our intervention for his health issues. However, it would be improper to make the public aware of any kind of aid we give to our members who are in need, Kate said.
