We need huge financial support and the right International connections to go global – Nacee
Nana Osei, popularly known as Nacee, is a contemporary Ghanaian gospel singer and songwriter. She recently talked about the conditions that must be met for Ghanaian musicians to receive international recognition.
The “Aseda” hitmaker claims that having the proper international connections and significant financial backing are just as important to success in the music industry as having musical talent.
In an exclusive interview with Giovanni Caleb on TV3’s Showbiz 360, the singer—who is also a music producer—emphasized the necessity of significant financial backing in order to successfully market and distribute Ghanaian music on a global level.
According to him, Ghanaian musicians possess exceptional skills and simply require additional connections with prominent figures in the global music industry. He emphasised that effective networking can lead to partnerships, global collaborations, and exposure to untapped markets.
“To promote our songs, we require significant financial backing as well as the appropriate contacts with people around the world. “We have very beautiful talents here in Ghana, but we will finish the song, and it will just circulate here in Ghana if we do not have enough financial support, good record labels to hold us down, and international plugs,” the man stated.
The well-known singer went on to thank Ghanaians for continually supporting many artists and for giving it their all.
