‘We dated for ten years’ – Janet Ackom shares chilling experience of her relationship with the late Super OD
Actor Asonaba Kwaku Darko, also known as Super OD, was a celebrated actor with whom the late Janet Ackom of Ghana shared a romantic relationship.

She described her ten-year relationship with Super OD and gave an insight into their close bond when she spoke with Akosua High Tension on Atinka FM’s Efisem programme.
Known affectionately as Mama Jane, she revealed that their first meeting took an unexpected turn when Super OD, not knowing that he was going to spike her drink, caused her to have an encounter that she had not agreed to.
When she awoke, Super OD had been intimate with her and had threatened to cut her off from seeing anyone else, asserting their exclusive relationship going forward.
Mama Jane acknowledged, “Yes, I dated Super OD for a good ten years.” I remember our visit to a hotel once. I was quite the looker at twenty-one. Unaware that OD had tampered with my drink, I chose a Fanta instead. I did not realise he was with me when I went unconscious.

She described how he threatened to hurt me physically and ruin my career if I did not comply, making it plain that I was to turn down advances from other men, especially those of our colleagues.
Mama Jane admitted that, in spite of their turbulent beginning, she had greatly benefited from her relationship with Super OD.
She eventually married a different man after splitting from him, and the two of them have two children together.
