The Musical Knowledge Of Myself, Minister OJ And Other Siblings Is An Answered Prayer Of Our Father – Papa Owura

Multitalented Gospel minister, Edwin Amponsah Sakyi, known in the Ghanaian music industry as Papa Owura has revealed how blessed his father felt for having musically gifted children such as himself and Minister OJ.

The Gosple singer, who doubles as a producer and instrumentalist was a guest on Aben Wo Ha on DL 106.9 FM with host, Silva Lady on Thursday, February 23, as part of his promotional agenda of the new remix of ’P3Y3’, which features his senior brother, Minister OJ. The song, which was released on January 20 is beginning to gain grounds and airplays in the Ghanaian media space.

Papa Owura went on and mentioned that he comes from a family of musicians. The ‘Makoma’ hitmaker has five other siblings, with prolific songwriter and singer, Minister OJ as the second child but the first son. The ‘Testimony’ singer had to explain the fact that he is the little brother of legendary Gospel singer and songwriter, Minister OJ and the fact that music rans in the family.

He also made mention of him filling in to perform in the stead of his elder brother, Minister OJ’s without anyone noticing whenever he was unavailable back then due to their striking resemblance.

“At the time, we had the same weight, so I used to perform at some of his billed events. Whenever he couldn’t make it, I performed instead of him. We look alike, so it made it easier. The only difference now is that he has an afro”, he disclosed.

The singer revealed how their father was torn between two events and had to pray to be blessed with children who possess his kind of talent. It is now obvious that this is an answered prayer request.

The father of the prominent musicians , the late Mr Oware Tweneboa, was a music director and worked with Esther Smith as a lead guitarist and other gospel acts, including his sons. His mother is also a singer.
