TGMA: Amerado’s team has petitioned board over ‘Kwaku Ananse’ snub – Robert klah
The team behind Ghanaian rapper Amerado has boldly intervened to correct what he believes to be an error on the part of the tmTelecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) board.
The gifted musician’s team has petitioned the board to remove his popular song “Kwaku Ananse” from the most popular song category.

Recall that on March 28, 2024, following the announcement of the nominees by the award’s organisers, Amerado used his social media accounts to pose an inquiry.

Amerado received two nominations that evening. The Hardest: Amerado placed in the best rap performance category, and Kwaku Ananse Remix: Amerado ft. Fameye placed in the best collaboration category. His well-known song “Kwaku Ananse,” however, was not nominated in its original form.

The versatile rapper expressed his confusion in a tweet on X, saying he could not understand why his song, despite being widely heard, was not nominated for any awards.

The rapper’s camp has officially petitioned the board regarding the omission, according to Robert Klah, the head of TGMA’s public events and communication, who made this revelation in an interview with Andy Dosty of Hitz FM. He stated that Amerado’s appeal is being examined and, should it be deemed worthy, will be included.
