Support A Mother Save A Child Foundation on October 30 2021 had its annual free breast cancer screening and education on the importance getting the breast screened.
This year’s activity themed “early detection save a life” was held at the Apostolic Church of Ghana, Odorkor at 9:00 – 14:00.
There were 3 nurses to educate and screen the people, a total of 89 people were screened , consisting of 7 men and 82 women, a lot of teenagers between the ages 13 to 18 also took part of the exercise.
As part of the screening, the nurses educated the people about the risk and how to recognize breast cancer, and how to self check as well. There were 8 detected who are sent to the doctor for follow up and the results will be brought to our foundation if there is any further assistance they need or we can offer.
The event was headed by Madam Roda Marfo(Project Manager) supported by Eugene Glover (publicity manager), Cecilia Nyarkoah (administrator) and Joana Brown (trainee).
A speech from the CEO/FOUNDER Mrs Nanendy A. Adjei reads,
I am very passionate as the founder of SAMSACF to create massive awareness about breast cancer to help reduce risk of getting the disease, especially African (Ghanaian) women from dying of cancer because early detection saves.
All participants were refreshed by the foundation.
