South African singer Zahara dies aged 36
Zahara, a South African singer who won awards, passed away.
After being hospitalised for two weeks, the singer passed away on Monday night, according to SABC News, Newsroom Afrika, and 702.
Zizi Kodwa, the minister of sports, arts, and culture for South Africa, appeared to confirm the news when he posted a tribute on his timeline.

“I am devastated to hear about Zahara’s passing. My sincere sympathies extend to the Mkutukana family as well as the South African music scene. The family has been working with the government for a while now. In South African music, Zahara and her guitar had a profound and enduring influence,” the author wrote.
Lesley Mofokeng, the manager of RiSA Communications and a spokesman for Samas told TshisaLIVE that they were completing a statement that would be released shortly, but she did not confirm the singer’s demise.

The 36-year-old singer’s family has not yet released a statement, but Zimoja reported sources claimed the singer died from liver complications several weeks after being admitted to the hospital.
On social media, the late star has received a tonne of tributes.
