Singing competition shows are beneficial for upcoming artiste – Mr Drew
The amazing Ghanaian Afrobeats musician Andrew Nii Commey Otoo, better known by his stage name Mr. Drew, has discussed the value of music reality shows for up-and-coming performers.

Mr. Drew emphasised the advantages of competing in music competitions and talent shows during an interview with RazaSwaggy on Asaase Cape Coast’s Rush Hour #celebchitchat segment.
He underlined that these programmes give participants a lot of chances, exposure, publicity, and a stage on which to develop a fan following.
The “Case” hitmaker, who rose to fame in 2017 after placing first runner-up in the sixth season of MTN Hitmaker, emphasised the significance of these programmes in forming the future careers of aspiring musicians.
Additionally, he mentioned how participants can build important relationships by interacting with judges, industry stakeholders, and idols during these competitions.

“The judges’ job is to shape the contestants into artists who can have an international impact, which explains the seemingly strict approach,” he stated.
The award-winning crooner emphasised that competitors can still succeed in spite of the judges’ comments, so they should have confidence in themselves and not let the competition’s result deter them.
