Rejections Motivated Me To Work Harder – Singjay
Fast rising Ghanaian Reggae/Dancehall songwriter and singer, Ludwick Arthur, known as SINGJAY for his musical journey has revealed the struggles he has gone through in his musical journey. The singer who hails from Hemang Kumasi in the Ashanti part of Ghana was in an interview with Nana Kwesi on Accra FM on Saturday, November 5, 2022.
The Pride of Caprice spoke about how he faced some sort of rejection in his way up the musical ladder, which includes the one at Irie Ites studios. Singjay revealed faced some embarrassing moments due to the fact that he hasn’t reached the level of other artistes on the riddim. “In a way, it didn’t discourage me, but rather, motivated me to get better” the Survival singer revealed.
Singjay also revealed the inspiration behind his ‘Time Up’ single. He said “I’ve been doing this for a while. I think for about fifteen to twenty years now. I just feel this is the time, which made me put that thought in a song, which is the best way I can let it out”.
Singjay’s genre of music is a melodious mixture of highlife, dancehall, reggae and hip-hop. He lunched his Magical 23 Mixtape Album under Magic Empire Entertainment in 2016, which consists of 23 solid songs.
The budding singer is still promoting his latest song, titled Auntie Deede, which features Nii Funny. He is also promoting his upcoming event dubbed Singjayfest in collaboration with Magic Empire and Taggetz Events on Saturday, December 10, 2022. Singjay will put together a lineup of great performers, which includes Awal, Wan Row, GH Ponch, Jefri King, Kofi Kymani, Sugar Ranking, among others at Taggetz Pub, formerly known as Bumarang for the first Singjayfest.
