Reggae music will always stand tall, don’t compare it to other genres – Ras Kuuku
Dancehall and reggae musician Ras Kuuku from Ghana claims that reggae music makes the most sense out of all genres.
Ras Kuuku claims that a significant 90% of conscious reggae music addresses issues that are relevant to all people and make sense, setting it apart from other genres.
“Just listen to tunes from reggae artists like Peter Tosh, Alpha Blondy, Bob Marley, Lucky Dube, and many more. The lyrics are universally relatable and possess great power.

Reggae music does not need to be compared to other genres. Reggae music is here to stay. It is a genre that everybody enjoys listening to, including Christians, Muslims, and men of God,” he said to Graphic Showbiz.
Ras Kuuku says that the reason the reggae music genre has not grown is because it has not received enough attention. He implored the event planners to allocate additional slots for Reggae in the Ghana Awards programme.
“I believe it is past time for event planners to provide reggae with additional slots in our award programmes. We will be noticed if you provide us with more categories. Only a few schemes currently recognise us, and even those are insufficient,” he continued.
