Provide proof or forever hold your peace – Charterhouse warns Brother Sammy

Gospel musician Brother Sammy has been challenged by Charterhouse, the organisation that runs the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), to substantiate the claims he recently made about fellow artist Nacee and the TGMA board.

Remember how Sammy claimed in an earlier interview that Nacee, a member of the nomination board, harboured bias against him, which prevented him from being nominated for an award?

He asserted that if Acee passed away, he would only be considered for an award.

Robert Klah, the public relations officer for Charterhouse, responded to the allegations in a live interview on Hitz FM on April 12 and refuted them.

He reminded Sammy that Nacee is not a member of the board and asked him to stop lying.

It is with confidence that I state that Nacee is not on the board. Truth-telling is mandated by the Bible. Furthermore, as a gospel musician, Brother Sammy ought to adhere to biblical principles,” he remarked.

Klah also pushed Sammy to either stop claiming that Nacee was on the board or present any evidence of her presence.

“We do not like this, so I challenge him to show it and provide any kind of proof that demonstrates Nacee is on the board.

Furthermore, it is improper of him to say that. It is not necessarily true, even if you have suspicions.

“He should forever hold his peace with respect to this if he cannot provide evidence,” he declared.

Klah added that all submissions for award nominations, including Sammy’s, would be fairly reviewed.

“His work will be reviewed at the end of the day if he submits it in the same manner as everyone else. He added that after it is examined and finds any merit in any of the categories, it will be reviewed and, if necessary, added to the appropriate category.

He wished that people would put more emphasis on telling the truth and stay out of trouble with the law for making unfounded charges.
