Ghanaian Gospel icon and songwriter born Osomafo Yaw Sarpong and known in showbiz as Yaw Sarpong revealed that the only lasting gift we can give humanity is Peace .
Yaw Sarpong who was speaking at the outdooring of his all stars peace song admonished Ghanaians to cherish the peace they have and should bear in mind that war and violence doesn’t create development or progress for a nation rather doom and endless suffering.
“When I walk the streets and I hear how people speak about violence because a particular party didn’t win the election, it takes me back to the days of Liberia and how it all started and how it has ended in endless pain, migration and suffering,” He recounted.
He added that the sad stories we hear about Liberia are all true, Liberia was once a peaceful and beautiful place with so much to offer it’s youth and generations to come , a little misunderstanding set Liberia into a nation of war and bloodshed destroying the dreams of the youth and the nation at large.
The “Oko Yi” singer stated “ Upon my arrival in Ghana,I saw and felt peace after every election,I composed this peace song to tell the story of Peace and what violence can do in the year 2000 , however management from further study saw it necessary to bring back the song but with the voices of other stars that have influence over the youth,” He said.
Yaw Sarpong concluded by thanking all the Stars who featured on this song, to take up the initiative to spread PEACE before, during and after the forthcoming elections on 7 December 2020.
