Most Ghanaians Don’t Believe In Highlife Music – Ekow Marvel
Akim Oda based artiste, Ekow Marvel was very vocal in his displeasure at Ghanaians for not sticking to and supporting the recognized Ghanaian flagship genre of music.
The young Highlife artiste was hosted by Agyemang Prempeh on the Power Entertainment show on Saturday, July 16. Ekow, who featured Kwame Yogot on ‘Kowu’, also writes songs for other artists on contractual basis.
‘It is very difficult for Ghanaians to accept the Highlife genre’ the star boy of Akim Oda painfully stated. He added that he is obsessed with highlife music and may always add a feel of the genre of music to any of his projects as an artist.
As a Choir master for Roman Catholic Church in Akim-Oda, Marvel is best known for his vocal dexterity. He gave listeners a feel of his soothing vocals by singing a bit of “Ma mendwene me ho” by the late AB Crentsil. This got the young talented singer some blessings from legendary producer, Fred Kyei Mensah.
The CEO of Marvel City Entertainment, was on the radio program to promote his current project, Woyale, with production credits going to Mensbeatz. The song is beautiful woven and easy to sing along. The song is available on all digital stores for streaming.
