Wesley Kwame Boateng better known in the Ghanaian Gospel fraternity as Daddy Boat disclosed on DL FM that it is his dream to meet the legendary Highlife artiste, Daddy Lumba before death separates them.
Speaking to Silva Lady of DL FM on the ‘Aben Wo Ha’ show, Daddy Boat said he was selling cassettes after he completed his Senior High School. Through the sale of the cassettes, he wrote his first song “Adom” in 1995.
The singer/songwriter was motivated by Daddy Lumba’s songs and was influenced by his style of writing and composition. He began to sing like Daddy Lumba.
Despite that, most music producers didn’t like to work with him because he sounds and rhymes like Daddy Lumba.
“I started music and producers told me to change my style of music because I sing like Daddy Lumba,” he said.
After Daddy Boat was rejected by producers, he quit music because he didn’t know how to change his style. He shared his love for Daddy Lumba and his music.
Daddy Boat is out with a new song titled “Kitiwa Biaa Nsua” featuring KK FOSU. He is also a businessman who is into car rentals.
