Inspirational Gospel singer and counselor, Mrs. Irene Ayettey Boateng, known in the showbiz circles as Mama Boat has heaped praises on the founder of the ’Women In Gospel’, veteran Gospel singer Rev. Mary Ghansah. The well-informed singer was in an interview with Young Mickey on Breeze FM’s Breakfast Train on Wednesday, March 7th, 2023 as part of her promotional project for her current single, Reliable God.
Answering to Young Mickey’s question about her views on the togetherness in the Ghanaian Music Industry, specifically, the Gospel fraternity, the singer gave a positive account of the unity among themselves, thanks to the ordained minister of God, Mary Ghanaah.
“We lacked togetherness in the previous times but, at the moment, some people have consciously pushed for the togetherness among the Ghanaian Gospel musicians. One example is the ’Women In Gospel Music’ founded by our mother, Mary Ghansah. We have Abena Ruthy as the president of the association. I also have a leadership role in the association, which is the Area Head of one of the chapters, Kasoa” Mama Boat added.
Women in Gospel Music can boast of membership of the likes of Abena Serwaa Ophelia, Celestine Donkor, Diana Hamilton, Piesie Esther, Diana Hopeson, among many others. There is an obvious display of unity and support for one another in the midst of this beautiful association.
The “Reliable God” singer, who doubles as the proprietress of Temple Academy Montessori, at Kasoa, is one of the Gospel songwriters with great prospects. She deservedly received some nominations in 2022 from some credible award schemes in the country for the good work she is channeling in the Gospel music industry and has an album coming up for lovers of her good music.
