Life In Ghana Isn’t Easy – Opanka


Renowned Tema based Rapper, Armstrong Affum, known in the Showbiz space as Opanka has revealed the reason behind the storyline of his recent songs.

The ‘Obiaa Ne Ni Taste’ hitmaker, who has now added singing to his style of music was JKD’s guest on X Zone on Friday, August 26, 2022 to promote his new song, Enye Betee.

The rapper, who seems to have also taken a particular path for his music.  With the story line of ‘Hold On’, which features Fante rapper, Kofi Kinaata, Trying Times and his recently released banger, Enye Betee, it seems Opanka is going through some rough patches.

Replying to if there is a sort of frustration behind the music, the rapper said “Mostly I write songs from my heart.  Everyone is going through a lot.  Things are tough these days.  The street isn’t easy for us. The price of Fuel, Dollar is increasing at an incredible rate.  The prices of goods and service go up but salaries remain the same”.

The rapper also compared the situation down here to other countries in the world, especially that of the United Kingdom.

The refined artiste also made mention of some challenges faced by popular figures in the society as a results of the situation of low standards of living.  “When you’re popular, people come to you for financial help.  You can’t satisfy everyone who comes to you for such  assistance” Opanka added.

Opanka is a Rapper, Performer, Poet, Composer and a Songwriter from Tema, Ghana.  He remains arguably Ghana’s best Rhymer and he became popularly known Nationwide by a freestyle he did on Bradez’ song “Simple” which went viral and he later followed up with his official single “Obiaa Ne Ni Taste” which also became an instant hit and up till date, he’s the only Ghanaian with the Most Popular Freestyle Cover.
