Blacko made this call on December 14, 2023, during brief remarks at a Ministry of Information-hosted stakeholder engagement. The engagement was meant to gather feedback from artists and other creative industry participants to further the #playghana campaign.
He claimed that it is unhelpful to hold DJs, musicians, and fans responsible for the problems facing the industry, highlighting the fact that collaboration between all stakeholders in the music ecosystem is necessary for the industry to establish a strong global presence and earn sustained recognition.
