KiDi, also known as Dennis Nana Dwamena, hinted at the plan during an interview with Sarah Brefo on Ultimate FM’s “Morning Swing Show” in Kumasi.
“It is a crossover. He revealed, “I introduced Black Sherif to my world, and he will introduce me to his.”
When KiDi announced on X that a collaboration with Black Sherif under the moniker “lomo lomo” was coming up, many wondered how the romantic-flavored Afrobeat renditions of the former would fit in with the gritty street hip-hop mixes of the latter.
Explaining how the two came together to secure the rather intricate artwork, KiDi said he had always discussed the prospect of working with Black Sherif in the studio on a project.
As he recalled, “I have always desired to collaborate with him. We have been talking about getting into the studio for a year now. So when this song was being written, I thought, “This is the perfect time for us to get on a song.” And as you can all hear, it just happened!”
As KiDi pointed out, Lynx Entertainment’s partnership with Made in East New York (MIENY) and EMPIRE had given his brand a global audience and given him the chance to perform on major stages all over the world.
“We have always been here, but music distribution spreads the word about our music to every corner of the globe. This explains why I am able to perform live in Australia and Barcelona,” he exclaimed.
He conveyed his appreciation to his followers, the Kojo Blak-led production group, Black Sherif, and everyone else who had helped make “Lomo Lomo” a huge hit.
Comedian Ato Pagh (Akoapolo; Events and Brands Manager; Icon Nana Benyin Anumel; Baby Porsh; and SB) hosted Kidi on the most hilarious radio show in Kumasi, “Ultimate Morning Swing,” which was a huge party.
