Kenkey is now GH¢5? I never imagined this day would come – Tic cries out
Nana Kwaku Duah, better known as Tic, a hiphop artist, has lamented the high cost of living in the country, which has forced him to forego purchasing certain foods.
He expressed his surprise after learning that Kenkey now costs GH5, forcing him and his family to stop purchasing it, despite the fact that it is one of his favourite foods.
The hiphop artist revealed that Kenkey used to be one of the cheapest foods in his lifetime and that he never expected the price to skyrocket to such an extent.
Tic lamented the current coconut price of GH5 and expressed concern about Ghana’s declining fortunes.
His remark comes in the midst of the country’s economic crisis, which has prompted more people to express their concerns to the government through protests and social media rants by disgruntled citizens.

“Honestly, my family and I enjoy Kenkey, but we do not buy it as frequently now that a ball of Kenkey costs GH5. I never imagined that one of the cheapest foods in my lifetime would cost so much. Can you believe that one coconut is now also GH5? “This is the reality,” Tic said on Twitter.
His concerns echo those of other celebrities and personalities who have urged the Akufo-Addo administration to address Ghanaians’ concerns and repair the economy.
