It is a big opportunity to do a song with Kofi Kinaata – Okyeame Kwame

Prominent Ghanaian singer and songwriter Kwame Nsiah-Apau, better known by his stage name Okyeame Kwame, has explained why he chose Kofi Kinaata as the subject of his new song, Sika.

After the song was released on Monday, March 4, 2024, the well-known crooner revealed in an interview with that he has always wanted to collaborate with Kofi Kinaata because he is a huge fan.

Okyeame says he admires Kinaata’s inventiveness, and that is why he wanted to collaborate with her on a record. Until Kofi Kinaata came along and changed the story by winning Songwriter of the Year three times, he further claimed that he was the only one who had won the award twice.

Because of this, Okyeame Kwame stated, “I called him to record a song because I wanted to know what was going through his mind. While we were recording, I realised why he is such a great writer—the boy just gets common sense.” Very clever, very clever; he knows the trade and the trick.”

The multi-award-winning vocalist continued by stating that he was excited about the chance to collaborate on a song with his idol, Kofi Kinaata.
