I’m out of politics – Kwabena Kwabena declares
As the elections on December 7, 2024, draw near, multi-award-winning Ghanaian highlife musician George Kwabena Adu, better known by his stage name Kwabena Kwabena, has announced his resignation from politics.
The hitmaker of “Aso” claims that he is no longer associated with any political organization.
Remember that the musician openly supported and legitimized the New Patriotic Party’s ascent to power in 2016? In 2008, he also released a song that served as the NPP’s campaign theme. Because of his involvement with the party, the musician has been associated with the New Patriotic Party for the past few years.
“I just have one word for all of us. On December 7, 2016, we are going to vote for change. This year, we are changing things,” Kwabena Kwabena said when he mounted the NPP campaign platform on October 9, 2016.
However, the well-known singer declared that he is fully out of politics during an interview with Cookie Tee on TV3’s New Day on Friday, February 9, 2024.
“I have totally given up on politics. When asked if he would run for the NPP in this year’s election, host Cookie Tee responded, “I am a Ghanaian.”
