I’m going to win more songwriter of the year awards – Stonebwoy

Renowned reggae dancehall artist Stonewbwoy has stated that he is confident in his ability to win more Songwriter of the Year honours from the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) in the future.

His winning rendition of “Manodzi,” which won songwriter of the year at the 25th TGMA, precedes this assurance.

 

The well-known crooner claimed in an interview with TV3’s Berla Mundi on Friday, June 7, 2024, that he is one of the best songwriters in the music industry and that people should give him more credit for his skills.

 

“I am glad more songwriting will come to me eventually because, honestly, I am one of the better songwriters here,” he said.

 

In spite of the fact that it was kept a secret, Stonebwoy acknowledged his past successes and congratulated himself on winning the coveted Artiste of the Year title in both 2015 and 2019. He went so far as to imply that he might win it again in the future, stating that he believed he ought to challenge for the title every five years.

He said, “I won it in 2024 and I came back for it in 2019—who knows [maybe I will win in the next five years],” alluding to his 2015 triumph.

 

Having received 13 nominations and six wins at the 25th TGMA, including artiste of the year, songwriter of the year, and reggae dancehall artist of the year.
