I’m done with NDC’s campaign songs for December election – Nacee

The party approached Nacee, the 25th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) Gospel Artist of the Year, in 2022, to write a song for them. He completed it and gave it to Asiedu Nketia, the party chairman, in a recent interview on Angel TV.

He acknowledged that he had been contacted by the party and responded, “Ah, that was a while ago, back in 2022.”

The “Aseda” singer went on to say that the song he recently produced is about the 24-hour economy, an idea supported by NDC presidential candidate John Mahama that clarifies the party’s position on economic development and growth.

Nacee responded that it depended on what the party wanted to do when the host asked when the song would be released. He is awaiting word from the party regarding the song’s release date.

“I turn in my work to them when I am finished, and they review it to see what else they can do.

When the time is right, they release it, and we carry on. This year, I am composing four songs; occasionally, they ask for six, as each song serves a distinct function,” he continued.

The crooner disclosed that he gets calls from prominent NDC politicians like Mr. Julius Debrah, Asiedu Nketia, and former President John Mahama, all of whom want to use his artistic abilities for campaign songs and other political endeavours, when asked specifically who contacts him for these deals.

“To arrange a meeting, President Mahama personally calls. When I get there, we talk about other things besides music. He shares his vision and expectations for the campaign song, and I go think about how I can deliver it.

“General Asiedu Nketia and the Honourable Julius Debrah can call me at times,” he said.
