If you threaten me again, I will have you arrested, Wontumi warned Ken Agyapong.
Kennedy Agyapong, a candidate for the NPP’s flagbearer position, has been warned by Benard Antwi Bosiako, the party’s regional chairman for Ashanti, to stop making threats and insinuations against him.
In a press conference on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, in Kumasi, the man known as “Chairman Wontumi,” threatened to have Kennedy Agyapong arrested if he threatened him “again.”
He cites the 2019 murder of Ahmed Suale, an investigative journalist for Tiger Eye PI, in support of his claim that Agyapong’s threats have occasionally resulted in fatalities.
“It is untrue that Wontumi has ever made derogatory remarks about a member of the party. Kennedy Agyapong should bring his supporting documentation if he believes I have done so.
“He can personally send it to me as a document or put it on a flash drive. I will evaluate the document and carry out the necessary conciliations because I am his younger brother, Wontumi said.
Furthermore, I am not destroying the NPP as Kennedy Agyapong claims I am. Even though you came to Kumasi and avoided calling or meeting with any of the party or regional government leadership, you attacked the Regional Minister, Kyei-Mensah, the Minister of Education, and me, Wontumi.
You are acting like a saint right now, saying that I am the one ruining the party instead. Who do you think is ruining the party, please? He questioned.
“I will not belittle you, and you are the best candidate to bring an end to your own campaign. But let me warn you, Honourable Kennedy Agyapong: if you threaten me once more, I will have you arrested.
“Everyone is aware of how some of your threats turned out. Some came to an end when Ahmed Suale passed away.
Chairman Wontumi said, “I will not answer you or insult you, but if you threaten me again, I will arrest you.”
