I’d Rather Watch Pornography Than a Black Stars Match” – Kumchacha States

Outspoken Ghanaian pastor, Prophet Nicholas Osei, popularly known as Prophet Kumchacha, has stirred controversy with his recent comments about the Black Stars of Ghana.

During an interview with Okatakyie Afrifa on Accra-based Angel FM on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, Kumchacha expressed his disinterest in watching Ghana’s national football team following their disappointing performances.

He stated bluntly, “I’d rather watch pornography than watch a Black Stars match.” This remark comes in the wake of the team’s failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) after a 2-1 loss to Niger on November 18, 2024, at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The acclaimed Man of God’s comment reflects the frustrations of many Ghanaians who have criticized the team and the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for their poor performance during the AFCON 2025 qualifiers.

Ghana, a four-time AFCON champion, has faced declining fortunes in recent years, with not even a single win in the qualifiers and finishing last in Group F.

His statement has sparked mixed reactions, with some agreeing with his frustration and others deeming his comparison inappropriate. Meanwhile, calls for a restructuring of Ghana football continue to grow louder as fans hope for a turnaround in the Black Stars’ fortunes.
