I Would Have Endorsed Alcohol If I Were A Secular Act – Patience Nyarko
Few years ago, the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) in Ghana banned celebrities from endorsing or being the face of alcoholic products. Some celebrities spoke against it, saying it was a source of income for them.
Gospel Musician, Patience Nyarko has indicated that she would have accepted an ambassadorial deal for an alcoholic beverage if she was a secular musician.
Speaking to Nana Kwame Gyan on Accra Fm’s weekend entertainment show, the gospel act also affirmed that it was a source of income for many celebrities, therefore does not agree with the FDA’s ban.
“I can’t endorse alcohol as a gospel musician…but I would if I were a secular act. But I’m a gospel musician now. I don’t take in alcohol, however I would have endorsed it,” Patience said.
She added that although the ban may be good, it’s affecting the celebrities and it is driving businesses away.
