I will still play a ‘bad girl’ role if the story has a positive impact – Martha Ankomah
Celebrated actress Martha Ankomah from Ghana has discussed her thoughts on portraying “bad girl” roles in movies.

She clarified that she would take on “bad girl” roles as long as the overall plot had a happy ending in an interview with Adom TV on August 13, 2024.
Likening it to Judas’s role in Jesus Christ movies, she pointed out that while Judas is usually portrayed as the antagonist, his actions were crucial to the storyline.
Ankomah clarified that she would still be willing to take on a role if it meant portraying a villain, and that role could positively affect someone’s life.
Judas is hated by kids because he is usually shown as the bad guy, but as we get older, we learn that Judas’ actions affected what happened to Jesus. He played an important role in the story.
As far as I am concerned, it depends on the story. If it could make someone’s life better and I had to play a villain, I would be happy to do it.
Acting is her livelihood, so she addressed any potential backlash from viewers by stating that the positive impact of her work is her main concern.

It does not matter if this is what I do for a living or how I make ends meet, as long as it has the potential to make someone’s life better. She went on, “It does not bother me.
