I wanted to shed light on domestic violence against women – Joeboy reveals inspiration behind hit song “Better”
The inspiration behind the hit song “Better” by Nigerian music sensation Joseph Akinfenwaa Donus, better known by his stage name Joeboy, has been disclosed.

Joeboy revealed that he wrote the song to raise awareness of the problem of domestic violence against women in a recent interview with well-known media personality Vivz. He made it clear that he intended to use his music to address the mistreatment of women that occasionally occurs in African society.
“Better is my favourite song ever,” the host declared.In that song, it’s like you’re speaking up for a woman that has been treated badly by another man.”
Joeboy said: “It’s something that happens a lot in African society; domestic abuse. Sometimes women are maltreated and not treated properly. I wanted to shed light on domestic violence against women.”

The crooner also expressed his gratitude towards Mr. Eazi for his support in his music career, as he announced the launch of his new label, Young Legend, in partnership with Warner Group. Despite his success, Joeboy remains committed to using his platform to advocate for important social issues.
