I used the money I gathered from playing ‘shabo’ to marry my wife – Broda Sammy
Gospel musician Broda Sammy has responded to reports pertaining to his marital status and finances.

On July 28, 2024, while appearing on UTV’s UCook with Empress Gifty, he was asked about his marital status. He acknowledged that he was married to a person who was not based in Ghana.
He clarified that he paid for her marriage out of his own pocket, despite his refusal to provide any information about his wife, claiming that at the time he was working “shabo” (short side jobs) to supplement his income.
“No one gave me money to get married; I am married. “It is my money; I was playing shabo at the time,” he clarified.
He vehemently refuted rumors that he married for a visa, saying, “I married her because I love her, not for a visa.

“I would have long since fled if my marriage had been based solely on a visa. It is true love.
