I Still Have PTSD From The 2006 Robbery Attack – Mzbel

Belinda Ekua Amoah, better known by her stage name Mzbel, is a Ghanaian music sensation and the CEO of Mzbel Music. She has admitted that she has not fully recovered from the trauma she endured at the hands of some armed robbers in 2006.

You may remember that the singer of the song “Edey Be,” who is known for wearing short, skimpy dresses in her music videos and live performances, was robbed and allegedly sexually assaulted in September 2006 at around one in the morning. After being apprehended, the robbers later escaped from custody.

The businesswoman revealed that she still suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder as a result of the attack that took place years ago in an interview with Amelley Djosu on Joy Prime’s Celeb Biz.

She claimed that following the incident, she was required to undergo counselling in some capacity and occasionally see a psychologist. She has received counselling, but she has still not fully recovered from the attack.

Yes, everything was significantly impacted when I was attacked by armed robbers at home. I had no choice but to seek counselling. Every now and then, I would visit my psychologist. I have been struggling to move past it up until this point. It is not simple; I mean, it is not a good feeling, but when night falls, I want to make sure doors are locked, burglar proofs are in place, and electric fences, you know.
