I have forgiven Daddy Lumba, I hope he forgives me too – Ampong as he is ordained pastor in USA
Reverend Minister Isiah Kwadwo ‘Great’ Ampong, a gospel artist from Ghana, has received ordination.
On June 17, 2024, a Sunday, Ampong was ordained at Divine Word Ministries International in the United States under the direction of Archbishop Kofi Adonteng Boateng.

The Archbishop claims that Ampong’s years of service as a vocal proponent of the gospel through music have led to his ordainment.
Great Ampong was required to ask the Lord and the people he had wronged in the past for forgiveness before being ordained.
He was told to ask for forgiveness, in particular for his long-standing conflict with highlife icon Daddy Lumba.
“At times of anger, the human heart behaves differently. If I said something offensive to him or went too far, I hope that God will pardon both of us for what he did to me, which I was unhappy about.
“I forgive Archbishop Adonteng Boateng for everything he did to me, which caused me pain from 2015 to the present day; I am letting go in God’s name,” he said.
He went on, “I apologise to anyone else I may have offended.”
Invoking blessings upon Ampong and requesting the growth of his ministry, Archbishop Kofi Adonteng Boateng prayed.

“I clothe you in a new garment of God’s grace as I lay my hands upon you. You have been showered with grace and power, and you will win over even your worst opponents. The archbishop prayed, “Your music is going to be renewed and will travel across the world.”
Ampong was dressed in a pastoral garment to commemorate his official ordination.
2015 saw the release of Hosanna, a collaborative album by Ampong and Lumba.
The pair fell out despite the album’s success and release, and they have continued to criticise one another ever since Ampong accused Lumba of being dishonest and avaricious.
