I had a verse on Kinaata’s ‘Effiakuma Love’ but it was removed without explanation – Ras Kuuku

The well-known 2023 song “Effiakuma Love,” featuring Kofi Kinaata, was later taken down for unidentified reasons, according to Ghanaian reggae musician Ras Kuuku.

Ras Kuuku revealed in a May 23, 2024, interview on Hitz FM that he had originally written a verse for the song in 2020, but that it had been taken out when the song was re-released.

Kuuku remarked, “I have just been keeping quiet because a lot of people in this industry have been doing things to me.”

Ras Kuuku jokingly speculated that his verse might have been superior to Kofi Kinaata’s, leading to a re-recording when he speculated about the reason for the removal.

Perhaps my poetry was more difficult than his. I made the song sound lighter because, in the first song he sang, his words were dense. He said, “I guess they made him sing my verse again after hearing it.

Ras Kuuku went on to say that he was okay with it after feeling hurt at first, emphasising that they did not have ill will.

“I do not feel that way about him. I kept it cool because Kofi is my brother,” Kuuku said.

When questioned if he would work with Kofi Kinaata once more, Kuuku said, “No, I have got so many verses.” I promise not to do it again.
