The “Running to You” hitmaker acknowledged in an exclusive interview on the 90’s Baby Show that she thinks it is admirable when a man embraces his vulnerability rather than holding his emotions in.
The crooner continued by saying that men are frequently under pressure from society to project a tough, strong image, emphasising that it is acceptable for them to display emotion when standing by their loved ones.
Simi made the argument that holding emotions in check can result in internal conflicts that could eventually come to light in surprising ways.

“Men frequently tell themselves, ‘I have to be strong for my wife or kids,’ when they witness other men and women experiencing the same suffering. That is alright, I believe, but being strong does not mean you have to be strong or cry,” the woman remarked.
The singer went on, “I like it when men cry because it shows that you can be vulnerable, let go, and feel safe with who you are with.” I have witnessed African men behave as though they are protectors, warriors, and providers. However, if it is not leaking out through your tears, it is happening inside your heart, and one day you will simply blow up,” the woman said.
