I am richer than all those insulting me – DJ Azonto

DJ Azonto, an award-winning musician, has said that he is not bothered by the criticism he encounters on social media in relation to how he presents himself to the public.

He claims that he is unaffected by the insults that some Ghanaians have directed at him because he is significantly wealthier than those people. He claims that they only insult him because of the way he dresses.

The Grammy-winning musician, who is known for dressing like a woman, emphasised that his way of life has enabled him to network with influential people and amass enough income to support himself; as a result, criticism from Ghanaians will not cause him to abandon his sense of style.

As quoted by Kwame DJ Azonto in an interview with well-known entertainment blogger Zionfelix, “I am richer than all those insulting me, and when they calculate their family money, it cannot buy even one of my cars or my houses, so why do I think about them?”

He continued by describing how his appearance had facilitated his networking and provided him with opportunities: “I am just being myself. This is one of the things I do to cheer myself up. This is who I am, and I dress accordingly. Everyone being here makes me happy. Guru, Piesie Esther, Maame Esi, and you [Zionfelix] were also present with me at the airport, but only I was being approached by the whites, and you noticed it.

Therefore, it is something that makes me happy. Even after making contact, the man promised to visit Ghana. I also made other contacts. I therefore focus more on profits than losses.
