Good Music Isn’t Enough To Survive In This Music Industry – Quarme Zaggy

Ghanaian highlife artiste, Nana Kwame Ampah widely known as Quarme Zaggy has stated one of they struggled encountered by Ghanaian artistes.

The highlife songwriter and singer, whose career has span over a decade was on X-Zone with host, Agyemang Prempeh on TV XYZ to promote his Mr Lova EP.  He spoke about the hardship artistes go through, especially, when they don’t have the money to effectively promote their songs.

“It has been a rough and smooth journey.  You need a lot of money to survive in this industry.  You may produce beautiful songs but may need to pay before the song goes as expected.  It is wish for the industry to support us, especially, when the song is good.  Some industry players understand the situation and support our products wholeheartedly.” the highlife singer said when he was asked about he is coping in the music industry.

Mr Lovar, as he is affectionately called revealed that so far, he has never had an investor in his music career despite the fact that he has knocked on so many doors.  He I added the fact that investors need to understand the music business because most of them want you to blow or trend before they come in to support.  This is a wrong approach to building an industry.

The Mr. Lova EP comprises of 6 well written songs which include Push it, Nframa, Araba, Happy, Ehye Wo Bo, Galamsey and production credits go to the likes of Kin Dee, Cash Two, and Beat Vampire.
