Ghanaians Are Overrating Joe Mettle In The Industry – Patience Nyarko
Gospel singer Patience Nyarko has disclosed that Ghanaians are over rating her colleague Joe Mettle in the gospel industry.
Speaking in an interview with Christian Agyei Frimpong on Onua FM, she disclosed that Joe Mettle has been overrated because of the Presbyterian songs he is singing on another beat.
“Where Ghanaians are lifting Joe Mettle to, he has not gotten there yet, he has been used to rate us too much. All Joe Mettle does is sing old hymns on different beats and if the Presbyterian and other churches say that they shouldn’t sing their hymns anymore, he will fall and his music career will come to an end. Let’s stop using Joe Mettle as a milestone to rate us in the gospel industry”, she quizzed.
“How many English songs does Joe Mettle have?. Ghanaians are not being fair to most of us in the gospel industry. How can Joe Mettle be used to rate us over most of all the gospel musicians that write their own songs , people like Nacee , Diana Hamilton , Joyce Blessing and others , just because these people are not singing in English doesn’t make them weaker than him”, Patience Nyarkoh added.
“He is a brother but where they are pushing him is wrong and if he falls he will be in trouble, how can gospel musicians who sing old hymns in different beats be respected than those who compose their own songs”, she concluded.
