Ghanaian high life veteran musician Rex Omar has disclosed that the organization GHAMRO only works and supports registered artistes.
Rex Omar in a recent interview with Amansan Krakye on GBC Radio Central in Cape Coast disclosed this.
“GHAMRO has been in existence for a long time and it’s an organization that stands for only those who have joined the organization as members. It is a law that gives the organization full right to protect their music and those are the people we work with”, he stated.
According to the veteran high life musician many of the artistes have gotten involved in misunderstanding that has led GHAMRO to use the copyright Law to guide and mediate but most cases that come are out of knowledge about how GHAMRO is being runned and all these misunderstandings are due to lack of education.
“Those young boys that sit on social media and say they haven’t been paid any royalties by GHAMRO are not even members of the organization, yet they want money paid to them”, he lamented.
