EMY Africa hosts legendary Stevie Wonder

EMY Africa had the honour of hosting the renowned American singer-songwriter and producer, Stevie Wonder, at the residence of their board chairman, Dr. Ernest Ofori Sarpong, in a celebration of music, culture, and fresh starts.

 

Stevie Wonder’s birthday and his recent award of Ghanaian citizenship were the reasons for the small celebration.

Becca, Michelle McKinney Hammond, and Stevie Wonder all gave moving speeches, had private conversations, and performed musically during the celebration.

 

The occasion demonstrated how committed EMY Africa is to fostering relationships and honouring excellence in the African and international communities.

 

During his speech, Kojo Soboh, the CEO and founder of EMY Africa, emphasised the value of connecting with people across the diaspora and honouring African success stories. He also discussed how these efforts align with EMY Africa’s tagline of inspiring greatness. It is time to build the country and the world, Stevie Wonder continued, adding that he was finally home.

It was a notable mix of people that attended the celebration. Bishop Dag Heward-Mills, Becca and her husband, Dr. Tobi Sanni Daniels, Akosua Busia, Osei Kwame Despite, Rocky Dawuni, Sammy Osei Kuffour, Kofi, and Esi Gbedema were among the notable guests. EMY Africa board members Dr. Ellen Hagan, Michelle McKinney Hammond, Joel Nettey, Nanahemaa Adjoa Awindor, and Dr. Ernest Ofori Sarpong were also present.
