Recall that in May 2024, amid intense discussions on social media about who should have won the coveted TGMA Artiste of the Year Award, King Promise’s ardent supporter Efia Odo referred to Stonebwoy as “old” and proposed that he give the honor to younger musicians like King Promise, who she felt more deserved it due to their recent musical accomplishments.

On the July 27, 2024, episode of United Showbiz, however, Efia Odo acknowledged her error and apologized for what she had said, attributing it to her intense feelings as a King Promise devotee.

“I get really excited about someone when I am a fan of them right then and there. It was incorrect of me to refer to Stonebwoy as an old man and make other remarks. She said to the show’s host, MzGee, “I admit it.”

She ranked Stonebwoy among the greatest musicians in Ghana and acknowledged his important contributions to the music industry.

Efia Odo went on to say that she thought Stonebwoy should aim for international recognition, such as the Grammy Awards, and should receive recognition beyond the Ghana Music Awards.

I really wanted to say that, in my opinion, you are greater than the Ghana Music Awards. I think you are bigger than the platforms they are providing you with,” she said.

Efia Odo apologized profusely for allowing her feelings to overpower her while standing up for King Promise and accepted full responsibility for her actions.

“That was a grave mistake. That was impolite. Nothing that you have done has wronged me. In defense of King Promise, though, I must admit that my words were completely incorrect, and I accept full responsibility for that. I was, like, a huge fan of King Promise. I sincerely apologize,” she said.
