He emphasised how Ghanaians’ support for musicians is erratic, varying from passionate to disinterested at different times.
On Wednesday, June 26, 2024, M3nsa talked openly about his personal experiences of overcoming obstacles while crowdfunding his album BONDZIE. Unexpectedly, despite being aware of his music career, even his own family members were reluctant to support his crowdfunding efforts.
“It goes without saying that this is an unappreciated job. I had to actually sell the idea to some family members, so you know you get loved. I do not have to explain the concept to you; you already know that I work as it is; however, as you are aware, we accepted the challenge and some individuals succeeded, making up for all of the setbacks and difficulties,” he said.
The musician went on to say that when he needed money for a project, not even MUSIGA—the purported support network for musicians in Ghana—could help. He says that even though he went through the correct procedures, MUSIGA did not get in touch with him until after the project was finished, so it was too late for them to help.

“We went there in search of funding, and they instructed us to write a letter after we completed the procedure. We received a response following the release of the movie,” he continued.
