Daddy Lumba has never performed well on stage before – KOD
According to renowned media personality and style icon Kofi Okyere Darko, also referred to as KOD, not all musicians are good live performers.
He gave the renowned Charles Kwadwo Fosu, better known by his stage name, Daddy Lumba, as an example of a Ghanaian musician whose live performance fell short of expectations.
KOD noted that although Lumba has had a big influence on the music industry and is well-known for his hit songs, his live performances have not always been the best.
Speaking on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z programme, KOD noted that a number of the nation’s well-known performers lack stage presence and should thus concentrate on honing this talent.
“Lumba is an excellent performer. The man has perhaps the largest repertory in all of Ghana, but he has never performed well on stage. On stage, Lumba has never had a good day. Recognising that not every one of our musicians is suited for live performances on stage is important.
“We should also be aware that, although you may have a great career as a singer and release a tonne of hits, you are probably not cut out for performing live. He addressed Kwame Dadzie, the show’s host, saying, “Over the years, we have forced a lot of musicians—not just in Ghana, but all over the world—onstage because there is a demand for their music.
