Burna Boy Is The Biggest Artiste In Africa – Grammy Organizers
Burna Boy has been proclaimed the undisputed heavyweight of African artists by the organisers of the popular Grammy Awards, a clear recognition of his global impact and musical prowess.
The Recording Academy has referred to the Nigerian Afrobeat phenomenon as Africa’s biggest musician and Afrobeat artist.

This comes after the ‘Like to Party’ singer secured a total of four nominations for the 2024 Grammy Awards. The Academy made the assertion in a statement published on its website on Saturday, November 11, 2023, congratulating Burna Boy and other nominees for the newly created Best African Music Performance category at the 2024 Grammys.
In addition to working with “global stars such as Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber,” Burna Boy achieved his first UK No. 1 album this year with “the classic hip-hop influenced I Told Them…, featuring appearances from 21 Savage, J. Cole, RZA, and GZA,” according to the Grammys. Burna Boy is “firmly in his imperial era.”
“Burna Boy is the biggest star in Afrobeats and possibly all of Africa,” the Academy continued. His albums Twice as Tall and African Giant received two consecutive Grammy nominations for Best Global Album. He has also worked with well-known artists like Justin Bieber and Ed Sheeran.”

Ghanaian music enthusiasts, meanwhile, were disappointed to hear that Grammy Award-winning reggae/dancehall musician Stonebwoy, who just released his album “5th Dimension,” did not receive a coveted nomination.
