Beyoncé has been appointed as the honorary mayor of Santa Clara.
Beyoncé can now add the mayor of Santa Clara to her long list of accomplishments and honours.
The city of Santa Clara has declared Beyoncé the honorary mayor of Santa Clara for today (August 30) in recognition of her ‘Renaissance’ tour stop at Levi’s Stadium.
“The city of Santa Clara is excited about Beyonce’s upcoming visit to the world-renowned Levi’s Stadium,” Santa Clara spokesperson Michelle Templeton said in a statement, according to The Mercury News. “Her concerts will undoubtedly be energetic and exciting.”

Beyoncé is the latest celebrity to be named honorary mayor of Santa Clara, California. Taylor Swift was named honorary mayor of Levi’s Stadium on July 28 and 29, as part of her ‘Eras’ tour dates. For those two days, the city was also known as “Swiftie Clara.”
Earlier this year, it was reported that ‘Renaissance’ could be Beyoncé’s highest-grossing concert tour ever, surpassing the total revenue from all of her previous concerts.
Her previous tour, ‘On The Run II,’ was reported to have grossed $254 million (£203 million), whereas her current tour is expected to gross more than $2 billion (£1.6 billion).

Her performance in London earlier this year received a five-star review from NME, who called it “the summer’s glitziest tour.”
“It is refreshing to see the playfulness that pervades the entire show,” it said. “No one can deny that Beyoncé is one of music’s most talented titans, but her performance now has a lightness to it that offers something new.”
Oprah Winfrey also praised the critically acclaimed tour, calling it “the most extraordinary show” she had ever seen.
