Are We Not Tired Of This Comparison Between Ghana And Nigeria? – Jacinta Questions
There has always been some healthy comparisons between Ghana and Nigeria in everything that pops up in either of these two countries. This ranges from governance, music, movies, culture, food, among others. The most reoccurring comparison is between ‘Ghana Jollof’ and ‘Nigeria Jollof’.
Comedienne, Jacinta, who finds her roots in both countries seems to be tired of answering questions on this unending debate. She was JKD’s guest on TV XYZ’s X Zone on Friday, September 30, 2022 to promote her first comedy event, One Night Stand.
The comedienne replying to a question posed by JKD about the attitude of Ghanaian audience and that of the Nigerians said “aren’t we tired of these comparisons? Both audiences can never be the same. I have performed so many times in Ghana, Nigeria and recently at Basket Mouth’s The Voices In My Head in the UK. The three different countries have distinct reactions to humor”.
Jacinta added that “The Nigerian audience support their own. Unlike the Ghanaian audience, when a new act is invited on stage, they just have to prove their worth to get the interest of the Nigerian audience. Also, the UK audience show up to a comedy show with the aim of coming to have fun”.
The beautiful comedienne showed gratitude for how supportive the comedy industry has been to her and how well the ticket sales for her One Night Stand comedy show is going. This event is something that has taken about a year to plan.
One Night Stand, headlined by Jacinta is slated for Saturday, October 8, 2022 at the National Theatre in Accra. Premium ticket goes for 250 cedis, VIP for 150 cedis and Regular tickets 100 cedis. Supporting comedy acts for the show include Foster Romanus, OB Amponsah, Afia Barcelona, Clemento Suarez, Gordons, Buchi and Senator. Ghanaian singer, Sista Afia and the Kwan Pa Band will also provide patrons with some musical feel.
